May Food Truck Rally
The May Food Truck Rally is upon us! A record TEN trucks will be assembled for your enjoyment! Friday, May 11 2012 from 5-9pm in the vacant lot located at 4th & Grove Street in downtown Boise.
Improvements are being made with each and every Rally. This time, the vacant lot has been cleared to allow use of the entire space! Plus there will be a new layout to help with lines and crowd control.
Our menu specials will include the Sloppy Dog, a Pork Carnitas sandwich, and Jalapeno Cheddar soup! See you there!
Food Truck Rally Mania!
In case you haven’t heard, the food truck craze has landed here in the Treasure Valley! Along with the trucks has come the Boise Food Truck Rally, a gathering of trucks held on the second Friday of every month at a different location each time around. This month’s rally (this Friday April 13th from 5-9pm!) is being held at the MK Nature Center at 600 S. Walnut in Boise. Bicycling is encouraged and you will receive $1 off your first beer if you do so!
The food truck rally movement has been such a great success in Boise that the folks in Canyon County have decided to try their hand with their own Nampa Food Truck Rally. Hosted by the B29 Streatery/Brick 29 Bistro, the event will be this Saturday, April 14th from 5-9pm at Lloyd’s Square (downtown Nampa on Front Street and 14th Avenue). See you there!
A Valentine’s Dinner (part 2)
Hot off the press! The Idaho Poster and Letterpress, that is. With the Valentine’s Dinner right around the corner we procured these lovely posters! The posters, along with the sweet little keepsake menus, were made with love by Bingo at Idaho Poster and Letterpress.
A casual and delectable prix fixe event, this Valentine’s Dinner will consist of local beer (including a new brew from the inspired guys at Payette Brewing), local food (assembled by the careful and talented hands of Jason of Archie’s Place), complete with a delicious dessert (crafted by the beautiful ladies at Le Bisou). Make your reservation today (call 208.871.1455 or email archiesplace@rocketmail.com)!
Also be sure to sign up for the new weekly email from Archie’s Place! You will receive weekly updated schedules, locations, menus, and MORE.
A Valentine’s Dinner (and other news)
Archie’s Place is teaming up with the folks at Payette Brewing to bring you a one of a kind Valentine’s Day dinner experience. Four courses. Four beers. Local ingredients and no sloppy joes here, folks. This is your opportunity to witness Jason’s diverse culinary skills. No need to stand in line to order at the window – this will be a real sit-down type of affair. Dietary requests will be honored (gluten-free, vegan, etc). $40/seat. Tuesday, February 14th at 6pm, at Payette Brewing in Garden City. Make your reservation today (call 871.1455 or email archiesplace@rocketmail.com).
In other news, Archie’s Place is now proudly offering dessert items from Le Bisou – Boise’s up and coming pastry shop. The Valentine’s Dinner dessert will be hand crafted by these lovely ladies.
Also coming up is the February Food Truck Rally! In order to better serve you at this event (read: shorter wait, shorter line) Archie’s Place will be replacing the grilled cheese sandwich (don’t worry, just for this event) with the new Mashed Potato Bowl – a bowl lined with mashed taters and filled with your choice of chili (available 3 ways) or sloppy joe filling. Friday, February 10th from 5-9pm at the corner of Chinden and Maple Grove. Follow the Food Truck Rally on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date. See you there!
Bring on the snow (and breakfast tacos)!
Here in the Treasure Valley winters are different each year. Snow, no snow, you name it. So the lack of snow here in town isn’t a total oddity for us. However, this winter has been VERY different up at Shafer Butte. Our local mountain recreation resort, Bogus Basin is normally open by now – and much to our chagrin, there is a mere dusting of snow as of yet. The weatherman has some good news – there is a prediction that a storm system might move through here mid-week and may just provide a hefty dumping of enough snow to allow Bogus to open! So warm up your wax and get ready to hit the slopes soon – cross your fingers for some ski action this Saturday!
If Bogus opens this Saturday, Archie’s Place is gearing up to be at the bottom of the hill (in the parking lot of Greenwood’s Ski Haus to be specific) selling breakfast tacos and coffee on Saturday from 8am(ish)-11am(ish) followed by normal lunch menu items until 3pm(ish). Think breakfast burrito but smaller (read: more affordable) and with Archie’s Place flair! So stop by and grab a bite before you head up the hill or on your way back! Breakfast menu will be posted soon, along with further details as the week (and weather) develops. You can expect tacos with your choice of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, potatoes, served with a side of house salsa. Otherwise, you can catch Archie’s Place at these locations this week:
Tuesday and Thursday 11am-3pm lunch at 10th & Grove St. downtown
Friday Happy hour at Payette Brewing in Garden City
If Bogus Basin opens this weekend Saturday 8am(ish)-3pm(ish) breakfast tacos and lunch at Greenwood’s Ski Haus (2400 Bogus Basin Road)
Sunday 9am(ish)-6pm(ish) for Round 1 of the Winter Points Sunday Series at TQ Speedway and Hobbies in Meridian (501 Scenery Lane)
What’s up at Archie’s Place this week?
The word is out – Archie’s Place is serving SLOPPY TACOS this week! Think about a nice heap of your favorite sloppy joe filling nestled in a warm corn tortilla topped with lime cabbage slaw, green chile cream sauce and/or chipotle salsa! You can have one for $3 or two for $5.
Soups this week are Carrot Ginger (GF and vegan), Garlic (GF and vegan), and Split Pea w/Ham (GF). Also lots of yummy grilled cheese add-ons: ham, bacon, jalapenos, habaneros, roasted red peppers, smoked turkey meatloaf, brie, and gorgonzola cheese.
Tuesday and Thursday lunch 11am-3pm at 10th & Grove St. downtown
Wednesday 11am-3pm lunch at the Boise Co-op (8th and Fort St.)
Friday night the truck will be out (lucky Friday the 13th – sorry triskaidekaphobians) 5-9pm Food Truck Rally at the Red Lion Downtowner followed by 9:45-11:45pm (Still the) Kids In America birthday party at the Visual Arts Collective (3638 Osage St. in Garden City)
